
SISCOEGYM is a WOD friendly training center. WOD is an acronym for Workout Of the Day and if found in a chain of small garage gyms that utilizes the same concepts in training that elite athletes use with their Strength and Conditioning coaches. These concepts are based on a strength and conditioning program that makes use of high-intensity, varied, functional movements developped by the Canadian Armed Forces which recognizes each of ten recognized fitness domains:
- Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance
- Stamina
- Strength
- Flexibility
- Power
- Speed
- Coordination
- Agility
- Balance and
- Accuracy.
Again, the concepts are designed to mimick the training methodology used by elite athelets, so whether you are an elite athlete or just want to look like one, you cannot go wrong by following the training protocols, at your level.
The training protocol is supposed to make use of movements and techniques from FIVE modalities of absolute fitness;
- Gymnastics
- Cardiovascular conditioning
- Flexibility (preferably Hot Yoga),
- Weightlifting and...
- Nutrition
HEREIN lies the problem with garage gyms. In order to keep overhead low, training equipment is minimal at best, treadmills are rarely seen and yoga is rarely offered...Hot Yoga is never offered. Equally Hot and Cold therapy is widely used by elite athletes to recuperate quicker. Anyone following a strength and conditioning program also need and want access to Hot/Cold Therapy however, this is also not found on-site in any garage gyms. To get the full benefits, you would have to join a hot yoga studio and or go to a spa to enjoy the Hot/Cold therapy. This is not the case at SISCOEGYM, we include everything ON-SITE to better serve you.

While SISCOEGYM is WOD friendly, make no mistake, this is not a garage gym! We carry all the equipment without cutting corners by saying things like "we don't use machines, we make machines". That may sound cool, but all it means is they are cutting corners on equipment that would greatly benefit you!

At SISCOEGYM we recognize that most people are apprehensive when trying something new or joining a new community so we offer a FREE introductory class designed to accomodate new members and/or first-timers.
During your trial class, you will meet with one of our coaches who will take a few minutes to get to know you better. A coach will show you around and introduce you to other members of the class. Ask any question you like to the coaches and/or the members :-) Once you have your bearings, your coach will walk you through a warm-up and begin to introduce some basic concepts and movements. At the end of the sessions you and your coach will have a chance to talk about how things went and what comes next. We know that getting a feel for a new place and a new program from only one session is not feasible. At this point, if you are still unsure, you can purchase a one-week unlimited trial pass for only $25. At the end of the trial period, should you choose to join, our staff will gladly go over the ideal options for you and we will credit the $25 you spent on the week trial towards the membership of your choosing! |
